i really really really really hate to get my hair cut. one time, when i was little, my mom was cutting my hair outside, and i was crying and shoving my hair-covered hands into my mouth, and screaming, "don't cut me!" while my mom was embarrassed and worried that someone was bound to call the cops any minute. nobody called the cops, and i still had to get a hair cut. anyway, the other day, mom suggested that we give me an interesting and extremely awesome style. i was a little bit embarrassed about all the attention that comes with having a mohawk, but i feel like in all, i rocked it out pretty nicely for a few days. now my hair is all buzzed off, but i think maybe every time i have to cut my hair, i'll sport a mohawk for a few days. it's a good time.

Explode!
I play tee ball now! my team is named the explosions, and my mom and dad and i think that is the very coolest name ever. i am number 5, and that's my dad's favorite number. they call it tee ball because you hit the ball off of a stick.
There are lots of rules in tee ball. Like, you can only hit the ball with your bat. and you have to wear a helmet. Also, you have to run when the kid behind you hits the ball, but sometimes i forget to pay attention to that. It helps to remember if you're not standing on first, facing the wrong way, celebrating. When you're on defense, you have to stand with your knees bent and be ready for grounders. You almost always throw the ball to first base if you get it. You do not throw the ball at the runner to get him out. You hustle on and off the field. You keep your eye on the ball. You don't give your teammates hugs; you give them knuckles. That's kind of a lot to remember, but i like it!

the cutest
today was mothers' day. in honor of today, i made my mom lots of presents. in school, i made her a handprint. my handprint is really big, and it took up the whole piece of plaster, pretty much. in sunday school today, i made her a flower out of tissue paper, and also a card. i am pretty good at cards. i don't even have to ask how to spell stuff anymore. she laughed when she read the card. i think she thought it was funny that it said, "dear lisa," and also that i said she was cute. then, bethy and i went shopping with my dad, and i picked her out a couple of books to read this summer. she's trying to read classics, so i got The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Wuthering Heights. then we found this card with a monkey and a puppy on the front, and dad let me write inside that one too. she read it at the restaurant (we took her to Joe's pizza and pasta), and she almost cried. my mom is silly. and, cute.
